I’m not sure but as far as I understood you have to make enough matches to make up for the spaces you destroy with the black pearls. At least that helped me.

I think the variety of levels make the game more addictive. For example: in Iceland some jewels are encased in ice that can be broken by special warming jewels moved next to ice block, while in China you'll have to trap monkeys. Wish it was longer: ended 100% in 4 days.

I really enjoyed the game. I should pop up the great graphics and awesome music. Plus the addition of online tournament and play against the computer. It is definitely the best one of Jewel Quest series.

I am stuck in China with the hidden quest, I have trapped the monkeys and not let any drop off the board but it won't give me the jewel...what am I doing wrong?

JQ III is so confusing...
I also spent much time stuck here and here...
Come back to the map room and read CAREFULLY the diary page for the region you are in. Probably you missed something...
As far as I understand you always have to read these pages carefully..
